Episode 79

Greetings. I’ve returned with the latest edition of the series. This episode was the most eclectic in selection and song-order in quite a while. For the near-term, at least, I hope to lean into the latter trait and not be so orthodox in my tracking. Time will tell if I stay true to this goal.

We start off with a fair amount of body music before lurching into a glut of black metal interpretations. Following that I wanted to slow things down before finishing off with some dirging and noisy punk selections. Hopefully it’s to your liking, but if not there’s always next month.

That being said I will return the first Wednesday of March with the next strike. Onward.

Episode 70

Getting this month’s episode in at the last moment. Hopefully you haven’t been waiting too long. This installment has a strong rock music foundation I’d say. There aren’t too many

oddities this month, but that’s not a bad thing. I’d say it’s actually a rather upbeat affair save for the end. But that’s for you to suss out, I suppose.

Episode 56.5: Anxious Karaoke IV

Back again with the newest installment of this series. I was finally able to “hit the stage” and belt out some idiotic and garbled versions of popular music (disco-era Kiss) at a wedding some months back. Perhaps that’s why this episode seems less…bleak, I guess, than most episodes. Oh well.

The weekend is here, let yourself be wild and free with these silly songs. See you in a few weeks with more of our regular fare. Thanks again for the support.

Episode 53

Greetings. Welcome to the final episode of 2023. Hopefully this year has found you (who?) in good shape and good spirits. This month is heavy on guitars and light on electronics. I’ve found myself in a bit of a drought when it comes to new (or merely new-to-me) EBM, dark wave, synth, etc. acts so please feel free to shoot me suggestions.

But who says the “ole same ole” is inherently a bad thing. Lots of nasty death metal, driving post-punk, jolting punk, and immiserating black metal for your hungry ears.

Thank you for your continued support and I’ll return next month/year on the first Wednesday with more hits from hell.

The artists and their respective tracks are as follows with each track time noted in the parentheses after each track:

Side One:

01) Heart of Snow – “Start Carving”

03) False Act – “False Act” (07:40)
04) Szmej – “Burn the Empire” (10:00)
05) Midoran – “Sogörn – Tragic Death in the Swamp…” (11:30)
06) Fallen Forest – “Stars in the Sky” (18:45)
07) Jordablod – “Hin ondes mystär” (23:30)

Side Two:

08) Barren Altar – “Delirium Vivens” (28:00)
09) Gosudar – “King of Pain” (35:50)
