Episode 86

Greetings, I’ve returned with the final episode of the Summer season. I felt it fitting to start with lots of speed as sweat makes me think of stimulants and that milieu. Lotta protein and sodium on the first half of the episode before the almost-automatic dive into the “odder” realms.

Episode 85

Greetings, this episode marks seven years hacking away (interpret that verb as you see fit) at this monstrous project. Hopefully you, kind listener, have found something of interest over the years. I know it’s been a personal source of inspiration and consternation these years and I hope you’ve gotten something out of it.

Onto the music, I kept it guitar-centric this month cause anniversaries are for the simple joys in life. Lots of black metal, punk, and death metal to be found here, but with the requisite weirdness I hope you all appreciate. I don’t have much else other than to thank my wife for ceding the basement for my tinkering all these years. She’s the best.

Episode 83

Greetings from the center and the edge of the universe. I’ve returned with a smattering of songs to tame your restraint and encourage your worst behavior.

We start off with a chunk of industrial/experimental work before hitting a pocket of punk and punk-adjacent material before finally hitting some black metal and death metal. Innovative!

Episode 78

New year and more of the same. This is the first episode composed completely using my new computer. Kinda odd that my old computer was relatively new when I started this project. But enough navel gazing.

Episode 73

Six years in the can and still going strong. I am finally over the halfway point at which point I can dubiously claim I’ve been at this for nearly a decade; or, if in a moment of embarrassment, it’s been “just a few years.”

Some house-cleaning to get out of the way first. It is currently a temperate 80 degrees in NYC but there is a surge in air pollution due to Canadian wildfires. So it goes. Can’t win ’em all.

As for this month’s song selections, I kept it to the basics for this “momentous” (ha!) occasion. I just looked it up and some not-shady-looking websites informed me that the sixth anniversary is the “iron” anniversary. Naturally I’ve decided to provide you maniacs with nearly an hour of death metal, grindcore, black metal, and doom metal. But, sticking with tradition/ethos, I did trojan horse some weird electronic/experimental pieces in at the end.

Episode 72

Greetings, this episode marks the end of the sixth cycle of this project. Next month will mark its sixth anniversary; I’m not good at basic math.

We kick things off with some noisy experimentation before gliding into more familiar blackened material. The second side begins with slower material before smashing into a sizable crust blossom that subsides into some slow-burn material.
